Sheraton Rome Parco di Medici

Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is an excellent four-star hotel for golfers looking to combine a stay in Rome with golf directly beside their hotel. Set in green surroundings southwest of central Rome, the hotel adjoins the 27-hole Parco de’ Medici Golf Club. Spacious accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, restaurants, fitness facilities and golf on the doorstep make it an attractive base for a holiday combining sport with the Eternal City.

Location

Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is situated southwest of Rome, inside the Grande Raccordo Anulare and approximately ten minutes by car from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport at Fiumicino. Its peaceful green surroundings provide a pleasant contrast to the bustling city centre, while Rome's major attractions remain within reach.

This location makes the hotel particularly attractive for a golf holiday. There is no need to choose between a city break in Rome and a stay beside a golf course. During the day, play golf in the green surroundings of Parco de’ Medici, then devote another day to discovering the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City.

The proximity of the airport is another practical advantage, making the hotel suitable for both short golf breaks and longer golf-and-culture holidays.

Rooms and suites

Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici offers 782 rooms, including 33 suites. Spacious and bright, the rooms feature large windows and, depending on their position, relaxing views over swimming pools, landscaped green areas or the golf course. The large windows also provide additional natural light and sound insulation.

Rooms are comfortably furnished and include Wi-Fi, high-speed internet and flat-screen LCD televisions with international channels. Their generous dimensions make them particularly suitable for golfers travelling with luggage and golf equipment.

The suites offer additional space and also benefit from large windows and plenty of natural light. The size of the hotel makes it suitable not only for couples and individual golfers but also for groups, golf clubs and larger parties.

Facilities

Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici offers extensive facilities for a comfortable golf holiday. During the warmer months, one of its principal attractions is the outdoor swimming pool, where hotel guests can relax after their round. A fitness centre is also available.

Dining options include Rinascimento Restaurant, Savoia Restaurant and Dei Condottieri Restaurant, serving Mediterranean cuisine. Breakfast and room service are also available.

The gardens, green surroundings and terraces enhance the resort atmosphere, while guests remain close enough to Rome to combine a relaxing afternoon by the pool with an evening in the historic centre.

Extensive meeting and event facilities also make Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici attractive for larger golf groups, incentives and corporate trips combining golf with meetings or events.

Golf

The principal attraction for golfers is the hotel's position beside Golf Club Parco de’ Medici. The club offers 27 holes divided into three 9-hole courses: Bianco, Blu and Rosso. The golf complex extends across more than 80 hectares of greenery and features technical bunkers, water hazards and strategic challenges.

The three loops can be combined into different 18-hole rounds, providing welcome variety for golfers planning to play more than once during their stay.

A particularly interesting detail can be found on the Blue Course, where one hole passes archaeological remains of an ancient Roman wall. Even during your round, the history of Rome is never far away.

With the golf course directly beside the hotel and both central Rome and the airport within reach, Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is an excellent choice for golfers wishing to combine golf in Italy with a memorable city break.

Rome Golf Holidays: Golf in Italy with Golf Direct

A golf holiday in Rome combines two very different experiences in one journey. During the day, play golf surrounded by greenery; just a few hours later, stroll through one of the world's most historic cities. Rome is therefore a particularly attractive destination for golfers who want more than excellent courses and appreciate culture, gastronomy and Italian lifestyle as part of their holiday.

With Golf Direct, your Rome golf holiday can be tailored to your requirements. Accommodation, green fees, tee times, flights, rental cars or transfers can all be combined within one clear itinerary, allowing you to enjoy the destination without arranging every component separately.

Rome golf holidays – combine golf and a city break

Rome is internationally famous for its history and culture. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps provide enough attractions to fill several days. Golfers, however, can discover another side of Rome. A number of golf courses and resorts around the city make it possible to combine a classic city break with several rounds of golf.

One of the most convenient combinations is Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici. The hotel is located directly beside Golf Club Parco de’ Medici, allowing you to move almost immediately from breakfast to the first tee. The club has 27 holes divided between its White, Blue and Red loops. After golf, return to the hotel, relax beside the pool and head into Rome later in the afternoon or evening.

Stay at Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici

Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is particularly suited to golfing holidays because accommodation and golf are effectively side by side. The property offers 782 rooms, including 33 suites, with many overlooking the green areas, swimming pools or golf course. This combination of golf and hotel comfort minimises travelling time on golf days. Enjoy breakfast, head out for your round and return afterwards for a drink or a relaxing afternoon beside the pool. At the same time, you remain in Rome. The hotel lies inside the city's ring road and is close to Fiumicino Airport, making it a practical base for travellers wanting to combine sport and sightseeing.

27 holes of golf in Rome

Golf Club Parco de’ Medici consists of three different 9-hole loops: Bianco, Blu and Rosso. Together they create a 27-hole golf complex. Technical bunkering and numerous water hazards require strategic play. The three loops allow golfers to play different combinations during the same stay, making the course especially suitable for a four- or five-night break with two or three rounds. Golf in Rome also has a distinctive atmosphere. On the Blue Course, one hole passes the archaeological remains of an ancient Roman wall, providing a memorable example of how the city's history and the game of golf intersect.

Golf in Italy – culture beyond the fairways

Choosing golf in Italy rarely means choosing golf alone. It is precisely the combination of sport, gastronomy and culture that makes Italy such an attractive destination.

Nowhere is that combination more obvious than in Rome. Play 18 holes in the morning and a few hours later enjoy an espresso in Piazza Navona, admire the Trevi Fountain or dine in an atmospheric trattoria. A golf-free day can be dedicated entirely to the city. Visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum, discover the treasures of the Vatican or wander through the characteristic streets of Trastevere. Rome is therefore ideal for couples where one partner does not wish to play every day. While one is on the golf course, opportunities for culture, shopping and sightseeing are virtually endless.

Golf and gastronomy in Rome

A golf holiday in Italy would not be complete without good food and wine. Rome has a rich culinary tradition and is famous for dishes including carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana and saltimbocca. Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici itself offers several restaurants serving Mediterranean cuisine. It is equally tempting to head into the centre regularly and discover authentic Roman cuisine. Lunch on a small piazza, an aperitivo after sightseeing or dinner in Trastevere can become highlights of the trip.

A short golf break or a longer stay

One advantage of Rome golf holidays is their flexibility. For a short break, three or four nights can combine two rounds of golf with a full day in the city. With more time available, a stay of five to seven nights allows golf to be alternated with more extensive sightseeing and perhaps excursions beyond Rome. Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici's proximity to Fiumicino Airport also makes the destination convenient for shorter breaks. Official information from the golf club places it approximately ten minutes by car from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport.

Rome golf holidays for groups

Rome is also an excellent choice for golf groups. Golf, restaurants, culture and nightlife provide plenty of shared activities away from the course. With its large number of rooms and extensive meeting facilities, Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici also works well for bigger parties, corporate groups and incentive travel. A group programme could combine several rounds of golf with a dinner in central Rome and a guided tour of the historic city.

When to play golf in Rome

Spring and autumn are especially attractive for a golf trip to Rome. Temperatures are generally pleasant both for golf and walking through the city. Summers can be considerably warmer. Early tee times are therefore a good option, followed by relaxation beside the pool and a visit to central Rome later in the day. Rome can also be attractive outside the peak season. The city remains fascinating throughout the year, making golf an easy addition to a cultural city break.

Travel to Rome with Golf Direct

Golf Direct can combine the different components required for a golf holiday in Rome. Depending on your preferences, your package can include flights, hotel accommodation, green fees, transfers or rental car.

Because Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is directly beside the golf course, a rental car may not be necessary if most of your golf is played at Parco de’ Medici. Airport and city transfers can then provide a convenient alternative. If you plan to play several courses around Rome, a rental car or pre-arranged private transport may be more suitable.
