Golf Holidays in Egypt

Golfing in Egypt

Located in the northeast of Africa, Egypt is steadily growing into a popular golf destination. The areas along the Red Sea—such as Soma Bay, Hurghada, and El Gouna—are already well known among golfers. This is largely due to the perfect climate during autumn, winter, and spring. Thanks to the mild desert climate, rain is rare along the Red Sea coast, the sun shines abundantly, and days without summer-like temperatures are few and far between—making it an ideal setting for golf. These regions also offer many good to excellent 5-star resorts, some even with their own golf courses.

Currently, there are only three golf courses in this area, but rapid development is underway to expand that number. The existing courses, located along the Red Sea and its lagoons, were designed by renowned names such as Gary Player, Gene Bates, and Fred Couples. Each course is a pleasure to play, although the influence of the sea and wind can be significant.

For now, we have chosen to focus our offerings on these particular regions. Tourism is the primary source of income here, and the area is stable and peaceful. The staff and local population are warm and welcoming, ensuring you’ll enjoy an unforgettable golf holiday.

Climate in Egypt

Egypt has a desert climate with very little rainfall, hot summers, and very mild winters. Throughout the year, there are large temperature fluctuations within a single day. In the desert, the difference between daily minimum and maximum temperatures is often around 20 degrees Celsius. In the capital Cairo and in the resorts along the Red Sea, these fluctuations are smaller—typically ranging from 11 to 15 degrees on average.

Sea Water – During the first three months of the year, the sea water is at its coolest, at a still-comfortable 21 to 22 degrees Celsius. After that, the water temperature rises quickly, reaching 28 to even 29 degrees in August and September. These conditions are not only ideal for divers and snorkelers but also perfect for swimmers and other water sports enthusiasts.

Winter Sun – Winters in Egypt are pleasant and, along the Red Sea coast, very sunny and reliable. With temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees from November through March, Egypt is an excellent destination for winter sun seekers.
